Linda Isabelle Francois Obas
Linda Isabelle Francois Obas is a prominent Haitian choreographer, performer, and sociocultural activist. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of XPression Ayiti, a dance company specializing in Haitian Contemporary dance inspired by traditional dances and the Vodou Culture of Haiti. Linda was professionally trained in classical techniques, modern dance, jazz, and other forms by renowned instructors such as JeanGuy Saintus, Jean Rene Delsoin, and Gerald Florestal in Haiti.
She has performed solo and with her company in numerous colleges, concert theatres, and festivals in countries like Barbados, Benin, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Jamaica, Japan, The United States, and Trinidad. She is also developing Thera-LakAy, a holistic dance teaching pedagogy incorporating Haitian spirituality and traditional dance.
